RULES

CONDITIONS – PARTICIPANTS

Application Dates: 15th January – 15th March 2026

Participants whose teacher is a member of the jury may take part in the Competition; however, that jury member shall not vote for the participant concerned.

1. Pianists of all nationalities may participate, provided they do not exceed the age limit of the category selected on their application form.

2. All contestants may participate in their corresponding age category and/or in higher categories, should they consider it appropriate. Likewise, any contestant may apply to participate in two categories simultaneously.

3. All repertoire must be performed from memory. It is not permitted to repeat repertoire from the first round in the final round. Each category has specific requirements regarding the Spanish work; please pay close attention to the program section.

4. Contestants will perform in alphabetical order. The starting letter will be determined by draw, and the corresponding alphabetical order will then be followed. This order may be modified due to force majeure or professional reasons. The candidate must provide justification, and the Competition Direction will consider the request and make a final decision.

5. The Jury may interrupt a contestant’s performance without this implying any form of evaluation. The Jury is not obliged to award all prizes. Its decisions are final and not subject to appeal.

6. Piano and acoustic test. Contestants wishing to test the piano and the hall must request this through the application form. Contestants who are not present at the scheduled time will not be allowed to carry out the test.

7. All prizes may be shared.

8. All prizes are subject to the corresponding tax withholdings in accordance with current legislation.

9. Pianos and practice rooms. The Competition will provide pianos and practice rooms for rehearsals during the Competition, at various locations that will be communicated by the organization in due course.

10. Prize winners must personally collect their awards at the Closing Ceremony and Prize-Giving Concert. In cases of force majeure, if a participant is unable to attend, justification must be provided. The Competition Direction will consider the reasons and may authorize the award to be collected by a designated representative.

11. The Competition has arranged special accommodation rates for contestants and family members who request them on the application form.

12. All contestants under the age of 18 must be accompanied at all times by an adult guardian, who will be responsible for the minor in any situation. If the accompanying adult is not one of the minor’s legal guardians, written authorization from at least one legal guardian will be required. The Competition Direction assumes no responsibility for any incidents involving participants during the Competition.

13. Contestants under the age of 18 who wish to attend the Competition on their own may do so only if they present a signed parental authorization.

14. All travel and visa-related expenses are the responsibility of the participant. Visa requirements for entry into Spain must be obtained from the relevant embassy or consulate. Participants are responsible for applying for their own visas. Upon request, the organization will provide an invitation letter by email.

15. A maximum of 25 participants per category will be accepted, strictly following the order of registration. If any category does not reach the maximum number of participants, the remaining available performance time will be redistributed among the other categories.

16. The Organizing Committee will establish a waiting list of non-selected contestants who may be invited to participate in the event of withdrawals by selected contestants.

17. The Competition Direction reserves the right to resolve any situations not covered in these regulations. In the event of discrepancies or translation errors, the Spanish version of the Regulations shall be considered the official one.

18. The application fee is non-refundable.

19. The Competition reserves the right to authorize radio and television broadcasting of the Concerts and Competition Rounds, as well as to make audio or video recordings in any format for Competition purposes.

20. Registration for the Competition implies full acceptance of these regulations.
